sj)end on ourselves and all the economic desires have taken over
first place In our heart_:; and minds. Big Is betler and more
desirable than PE:ace of mind, contentment with life and God In
our Hearts. ~ave we lost sight of what Is important, truely
. -Important?
.
God, my soul and Heaven as my eternal home should be my
first concern. How many of us think that'. Ever read the
obituaries and note rio church Is mentioned bullots of orders and
fraternal groups. They give the time of service but leave out th e
church and minister. How many funerals have you gone lo
. where there was no clergyman. Not any that I have been to.
. Many of these people did not care for I heir soul-and eternal life.
They are or were not like the first people who came to America.
They came to secure liberty for their souls. Worship of God was
Vital to their life.
All through American history settlements and towns lOOk
shape and as soon, and sometimes before , as they had sheller
they then built a church. Their soul and God almighty wer.e the
most vital and stirring thing In their hearts and minds. America
· pros~red because the early settlers felt without God they
· would fall. Thus they made sure God was part of their everyday
life. God and then life and then government and education.
Government did not dictate religious worship or the lack of It
nor limit It:
Just because something Is old does not mean It Is obsolete and
to be cast aside. Now let us go back to our roots and put Worship
·and God first. Let economics ancl earthly "things" come In
·much later. God, not wealth is the most vital thing we have In
·America. Thank God!
