Thursday gave the Natural Resources Department authority to spend $107,750 to determine whether abandon·
ed .strip mines can be switched into state recreation
areas.
Of that amount, $5\,250 will be spent for park deyelopment plans which could be used for dormant strip
mines in Harrison and Jefferson counties. The Stanley
Engineering Co., cleveland, will draw up plans for a
$427 500 park development project in those counties.
