Text Any textual data included in the document Lawrence Scott McDermitt, 60, of Letart, WV, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born March 27, 1963, in Point Pleasant, WV, a son of the late Johnnie Franklin and Mary Janet (Zerkle) McDermitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt, Margaret Rizer. Affectionately known to many as Scott, he graduated from Wahama High School with the class of 1981. He had previously worked in the Pot Rooms at Ravenswood Aluminum and was currently employed by Mason County Schools. Most of all, Scott loved being a farmer. He was a member of Point Pleasant Moose Lodge #731. Scott was an avid Wahama White Falcons fan and supporter and enjoyed NASCAR and football. Survivors include his cousins, Carolyn Sayre, Danny Rizer, Timothy (Lisa) Sayre, Amy Rizer, Stephanie Sayre, Dralen Sayre, Morgan Sayre, Diane (Darrell) Cousans, Michael Yantis, David Yantis; uncle, Jerry (Clara) Zerkle and numerous cousins, and friends. Graveside service will be 3 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2023, at Union Cemetery, Letart, WV, with Pastor Patrice Weirick officiating.
