            <text>Dave graduated from Meigs High School and received the “Distinguished Alumni” Award from the Meigs Local Alumni Association. He received his degree in Business Administration from Mountain State College, Parkersburg, West Virginia. He retired from American Electric Power.&#13;
&#13;
Dave will be remembered for his commitment to Meigs County youth sports. He also received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Boys Clubs of America; the Robert E. Byer Community Services Award from the Middleport Masonic Lodge #363; he was selected for the Southeastern Ohio Slow Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 2023. He was Secretary/Treasurer of the Big Bend League and was presented an award in 2013 at which time the Middleport Ball Field was named after Dave Boyd and Woody Call. Dave was the Grand Marshall of the Fourth of July Parade in 2023. He was also President of the Middleport Youth League. He was also President of the Fall Ball League.&#13;
&#13;
Dave was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Bidwell, Ohio. Dave is survived by his wife, Janice Boyd; sons, Justin and David (Jenny Norman); sister, Donna Boyd and grandchildren, Kyla and Quentin Boyd and Mona, his special pet. Special friends include: Grant Smith; Alfred Evans; Rod Ebersbach; Amy Barber; Jackie Fox; Chastity and Pat Martin; Ken McCullough Jr.&#13;

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home, 590 Main Street, Pomeroy, Ohio with the Reverend Marlin Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Meigs Memory Gardens, Pomeroy, Ohio.&#13;
&#13;
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Pallbearers will be: Rick VanMatre; Rod Ebersbach; Donnie Johnson; Alfred Evans; Josh Miller; Jo Loyd II; Ken McCullough Jr; Chuck Hannahs. Honorary pallbearers are: Grant Smith; Jeremy Peck; Terry “Wedge” Payne.</text>
