            <text>James Carl Smith, 61, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia. Born March 5, 1963 to Roger and Helen (Pullins) Smith Sr, at Meigs Memorial Hospital in Pomeroy, Ohio. &#13;
&#13;
            James is survived by his wife of 43 years, Martha Smith of Pomeroy, Ohio. Daughter, Amanda (David) Reitmire of Pomeroy, Ohio. Grandsons, DJ and Avery Reitmire of Pomeroy, Ohio. Brother, Roger (Samantha) Smith Jr. of Pomeroy, Ohio. Many nephews &amp; nieces. Special friends Sharon (David) Hudnall, Jimmy Parker, Kyle (Penny) Sinclair, and Terry (Veronica) Rowley. &#13;
&#13;
              James retired after almost 30 years as a custodial maintenance at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He was a volunteer firefighter for many years for the Chester fire department. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, paintball, riding his motorcycle and ATV, and spending time with his family.  &#13;
&#13;
                James is proceeded in death by his parents Roger and Helen (Pullins) Smith Sr. Paternal grandparents Calvin and Sarah Smith. Maternal grandparents Carl and Helen Pullins. &#13;
&#13;
                Cremation, per James’ wishes, will be held by the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.  </text>
